# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Texas

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Location: Austin, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, 13-week contract assignment. Four weekend shifts per month required (Friday and Saturday are considered weekend nights). 1:5 patient ratio with dedicated PCT support.

• 52-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiology surgical and medical patients with PCU level of care
• Diverse case mix including open heart, heart failure, post-catheterization lab patients, valve procedures, LVAD placements, pacemakers, ablations, and watchman procedures
• Free charge nurses on every shift with no patient assignment, plus dedicated resource RN and house supervisor support
• Meditech EMR system with modern equipment including Philips remote telemetry and comprehensive monitoring technology
• Strong unit culture recognized in top 5% for patient experience across the organization; ranked #3 company-wide in Q4 2023
• Supportive leadership team with Clinical Nurse Coordinators rounding each shift to provide education and assistance

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2+ years of progressive care or critical care nursing experience
• Cardiology experience required, including open hearts, heart failure, post-catheterization lab patients, and valve patients
• LVAD experience preferred
• Meditech EMR proficiency preferred
• BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
