About the Role

Lead enterprise-wide change strategy on highly complex, large-scale utility initiatives, onsite in Greater Los Angeles. Innovation Consulting LLC is supporting a large utility serving Southern California and is recruiting a Senior Change Management Consultant for this work.

The ideal candidate works with significant independence and little oversight, is fluent in Prosci and ADKAR, and can move between advising a senior executive in the morning and building a change impact assessment in the afternoon. A professional change management or organizational design certification is required at this level.

You will be hired as a full-time employee of Innovation Consulting and deployed as a consultant on client engagements. This position is contingent on contract award, anticipated Q4 2026, with assignments beginning in late 2026 to early 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Change Strategy

• Lead the design and development of enterprise-wide change strategies informing portfolios, programs, projects, policies and processes.

• Provide strategic analysis, advice and education to senior executives and managers on initiatives that are highly complex and large in scale.

• Conduct sponsor assessments, ADKAR stakeholder assessments and change readiness assessments, and translate findings into action.

Change Delivery

• Build change impact assessments, change management project plans, communication plans and sponsor roadmaps.

• Develop training plans, coaching plans and resistance management plans in support of user adoption.

• Establish readiness checkpoints and scorecards used in go/no-go decisions, and conduct after action reviews.

Team and Stakeholder Management

• May lead a team of consultants, associates and analysts.

• Identify, manage and escalate issues, risks, timelines and deliverables to business owners.

• Integrate with client project managers, human resources business partners, sponsors and PMOs.

Work Requirements

• Primarily onsite at the client's offices in the Greater Los Angeles metro, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific. Not eligible for fully remote work. Candidates outside commuting distance must relocate to the area before assignment start.

• The client provides equipment, workspace and systems access. Work is assigned and directed by the client's Organizational Change Management Senior Manager or designee, with as-needed field travel across the utility's Southern California service territory.

Qualifications

Required

• 10 or more years of total relevant work experience in organizational change management.

• Professional change management or organizational design certification — required. Prosci Practitioner Certification strongly preferred.

• Thorough knowledge of organizational development and effectiveness best practices and their technical application.

• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide change strategy on highly complex, large-scale initiatives.

• Project management experience.

• Work is mainly self-directed with significant independence and little oversight.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Must reside within commuting distance of the Greater Los Angeles metro, or relocate to the area prior to assignment start.

Preferred

• Prosci Practitioner Certification.

• Advanced degree in Psychology, Organizational Development, Organizational Design, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience with regulated utilities, energy or another CPUC-regulated industry.

• Experience on enterprise technology, business process optimization or culture transformation programs.
