As a Mental Health Therapist at Nexus Mental Healthcare, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans targeting trauma recovery and resilience-building, fostering a collaborative approach with patients regarding their care.

  • Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailored to each patient's unique circumstances.

  • Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma, build adaptive coping mechanisms, and foster personal growth.

  • Collaborating closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and holistic care for all patients.

This role centers on a diverse group of patients, primarily individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including veterans, domestic violence survivors, and those suffering from PTSD. Qualifications\n

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.

  • Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment strategies.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and respectful approach to all interactions.
