Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Nexus Mental Healthcare, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to accurately evaluate each patient's trauma history and inform appropriate treatment methodologies.

  • Developing and implementing tailored treatment plans centered on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and personal growth.

  • Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

  • Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions that empower patients to process their trauma, develop coping mechanisms, and endorse healing.

  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and integrated care for all patients.

  • Offering crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, providing immediate support and strategies to manage acute distress.

  • Educating patients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources to enhance their support systems.

Qualifications\n

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • A current and valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.

  • At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly with trauma-focused therapy.

  • Deep understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a non-judgmental approach to client interactions.
